General Questions and Answers
Will Nuffield Health be issuing the VINCI Construction UK presentation slides from the meeting?
Yes – a copy of the presentation given to local residents on 12th December 2011 will be posted on the website www.thechesterfieldhospital.com.
Nuffield Health claim, in a recent Evening Post article, to care about our Heritage. Why has it taken so long to protect the Villa? In what condition is the historic plasterwork after 18 months of water leakage and after the lead was stolen from the roof?
Nuffield Health has undertaken a significant programme of protection works both to the fabric of the building and the site itself both before and after the unfortunate theft of the lead. This programme has reduced the potential for damage and left the interior plasterwork in exceptionally good condition.
VINCI Construction UK say they are going to support charitable causes in the local area. Nuffield Health’s record in the area appears to be rather poor. Will Nuffield Health be considering more local sponsorship and charitable work?
Yes.
A recent article in the Evening Post mentioned that the Villa would be used as an “educational centre”. This was not mentioned in the planning application. Will this result in more visitors and pressure on-street parking?
The educational element comprises training facilities for surgical/clinical staff for hospital purposes and formed part of the planning application.
We understand that Nuffield Health has been offered a 32-bed hospital site in Southmead – surely this would have supported your healthcare objectives in a much more cost & time effective manner, than the Chesterfield development? Why have you not taken up this offer?
This question is not relevant to the consultation process.
When can we expect the first information to be submitted to the Council to comply with conditions of the CEMP? Have you a proposed issue schedule?
The CEMP has been submitted to Bristol City Council for its consideration. Bristol City Council determine the timing of the Consultation.
Are there any more meetings planned for locals to discuss the construction?
